The History of Forma Futura

Idea

The idea for Forma Futura came to Antoinette Hunziker-Ebneter during conversations with clients. In addition to simple performance oriented thinking about investments, the values of clients should be realized and the flow of assets should be directed to companies that contribute to increasing a sustainable quality of life.

Foundation

On November 20, 2006, this idea became reality with the establishment of Forma Futura Invest AG. After more than 20 years in the financial industry and the stock exchange world, Antoinette Hunziker-Ebneter launched the independent asset management firm, Forma Futura. She did this together with three other founding partners, Christian Kobler, Beatrice Zwicky and Harry Korine and employees Doris Hauser and André Utzinger. The Board of Directors, then consisting of Monique Bär, Alois Flatz, Anton Gunzinger and Peter C. Rudin, contributed active support as entrepreneurs sharing the same values during the start-up phase. The motivation of all the participants was the same: if we invest our money in companies on the basis of sustainability criteria, then we are making an active contribution to the quality of life of future generations.

Implementation

The aim of sustainable investing is to improve the quality of life while respecting the biophysical capacity of the earth and to preserve it for future generations – we call this a sustainable quality of life. To achieve this goal, we have developed an extensive catalog of criteria that make the contribution of a company to a sustainable quality of life measurable. In order to achieve market-driven financial performance, we have embedded sustainability analyses in a comprehensive investment selection process.

Development

Our steady growth has enabled us to continually improve and expand our services. We further built up our client segments, in particular in the field of charitable foundations, thanks to Robert Müller, who joined Forma Futura in 2009. With the enlargement of the Executive Committee to include André Utzinger and Robert Müller in 2012, our continuous development could be sustained while maintaining the company's basic values.
