Climate reporting under the microscope

Since the Paris Climate Agreement of 2015 at the latest, the climate debate has also reached the financial sector. The pressure on financial institutions to take their climate-related risks seriously has increased significantly. This has led to increased reporting on CO2 emissions from loans, investments and portfolios. A good development - but CO2 should by no means be seen as the measure of all things when it comes to measuring the climate risks and climate impact of financial instruments. With this paper, Forma Futura provides a knowledge base on the topic of climate reporting and shows why the carbon footprint is justified, but why its significance should not be overestimated.
